The Big Picture

What does a picture tell you.. they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Some say priceless. Well picture this. A college student,ex wife & mother of 3 meets an street hustler,ex convict & recovering drug addict. Hard to picture aint it. But as the old saying goes.. what GOD puts together let no man put asunder. Ive watched this marriage blossom.. from an apartment off wesley chapel to a home in stone mountain.. from a four small four door with 4 kids to a mini van(even tho i hated it lol). i watched my mom climb the corporate ladder & my dad work hard as an ex convict, day time job,life guard, VIP suite manager at the dome,prison ministry.. and they did it all while making it seamless to their children. Even in my rebellion & constant verbal discourse.. i paid attention. I watched & marveled at this motion picture. Fast forward i watched my parents become grandparents, i watched my my dad who couldn't make it upstairs after surgery & i watched his wife make a pallet on the floor as he slept on the sofa. Can you picture that. When your young sometimes you just don't get it.. you miss the minor details. You only see what you want to see. But now.. i get it... I see the Big Picture.

Play-Doh

Play Doh.. Everyone in their life has either played with play doh or of course knows what the stuff is. Its that squishy stuff that comes in the plastic yellow container that kids across the globe love & adore. What very few people know is that in 1956, play doh was an all white material used to remove stains from wallpaper. To the originators (Joe McVicker) dismay, the invention wasn’t a big hit in the home industry.

However Joe McVicker remembered that his sister in law was a school teacher. She had told him before that the molding clay used in her classrooms was rigid & hard for the kids to mold. He convinced her to ship her a container to her classroom, add color to it & see how it worked. It was an instant success & was introduced at a school convention & later sold in stores.

The moral of the story is this. We all have situations in our lives that seem to blow up in our faces as failures. We often continue to feed into those failure instead of looking at our failures & short comings as opportunities to improve our lifestyle, mind state & ultimately our future. Play Doh goes to show that we are all 1 minor adjustment away from reaching our full potential.

The Obama Effect

There has been much speculation in reference to our president. Especially in the black community dubbing him "OUR" president. President Barack Obama has made it clear that he is the president for ALL people. The reality is... WE.. the African American community has suffered due to this approach & i will explain why.

President Obama has changed the mindset & given hope to an entire nation. He has risen the standard of what you can accomplish as an African American male in america.. in some eyes.. To others hes just another political pawn with no power & is just following protocol. But in the middle their lies an unspoken truth in reference to our president. Its starts & ends with the color of his skin.

There are stats that prove unemployment in the back community has risen since President Obama's term, while he has passed laws that have assisted in other communities. Unemployment among African Americans is 16.7 % which is the highest its been since 1984(Reagan era/crack epidemic). Many wonder why this is & i believe there is a reason for the unintentional neglect.

There where many speculations that President Obama was anti-black because he didn't "fix" our/black america's problems. Honestly that's something he cannot do. We felt an entitlement to him because of his skin color. Reality is he is THE PRESIDENT.. not the representative for black america. Sadly to say.. he had to remove that stigmata in order to have success.

Which brings me to my next point.President Obama unintentionally had to ignore the groans of Black America to not come off as "A Black President". He couldn't allow all the pressure of his skin color to deter him from his overall agenda. As a result the black community suffered by committee. He couldn't allow his skin color to put him in a position to where he had to prove his "Blackness" as we so often attempt to force people to do. Many found this Disappointing, but the reality is.. it was hanging around his neck.

In conclusion, as of late President Obama stated that he was passing a law to create more jobs in metro cities & also different bills for small businesses. This has nothing to do with his color.. but the fact that he sees the disparity of the people & how unemployment affects the country. Do i feel President Obama has been a failure... NO...Has he been a success.. Yes.. He has been handed a laundry list of issues from the previous presidency.. its going to take more than 4 years to correct. With the last election being so controversial & celebrated., it has also caused Black America to pay attention to politics. With the black community making up 1/5 th of votes that got President Obama in office.. How will the Obama Effect.. Affect Obama

why Wont He COMMIT?

The age old question women ask themselves. WHY WON’T HE COMMMIT? Contrary the belief of most women.. Men aren’t afraid of commitment.. There afraid of what there committing to. It is common that once women get to a certain age.. They are ready to settle down & start their “family lives”. It seems as if men seem to not be as ready. People say that women naturally mature faster than men. I wouldn’t say that’s 100% accurate. But I will say that because women are naturally designed to be nurturing.. They look for that faster in their life than men do.

Women often ask women.. “girl what am I doing wrong” “what’s working for you”.. and that’s helps.. but can also cause a problem. Women have a tendency to look at other relationships & compare theirs to others... Men however, don’t like that. There are 3 key things you need to look at as a woman to find out why a guy won’t commit to you.

1.) Yourself

2.) The guy your dealing with

3.) The situation

So well start with yourself.. The lady, the woman in the situation. Sometimes you have to do a true self assessment. Ask yourself; are you ready for a commitment? Are you secure enough in yourself as a person to be a well rounded mate? Are you the mate for this person? Honestly, why do you want to be with this person? A lot of women make the mistake of trapping themselves with a guy because of children, how long they’ve been with them, their comfortable; they don’t want to start over. Soooo many reasons.. All these things point to insecurity, Which breed disaster for any relationship. If you’re constantly asking the person you’re with questions about commitment… HE WILL NOT SETTLE DOWN WITH YOU. Men aren’t designed that way.. We will naturally rebel. You should ask your mate what things they like about & also what areas you can improve on. A man wont deal with a woman too long that wont accept leadership. A strong woman knows that in order to be a leader in her relationship she has to walk beside her man.. Not behind him nagging, not in front of him scolding.. but beside him. You look at the person your dealing with & you believe that he’ the right one for you.. have you readied yourself to be the right 1 for him. How do you resolve conflict with your mate? Do you run to friends.. do you address it right away, do you only speak on the problem & not the solution. These are all red flags for Men. You play just as much of a role in your man wanting to be with you as he does with his desire.

The guy. The other half of the equation. What kind of guy are you dealing with. There are 2 types of MALES(Boys & Men) & 2 types of MEN.. if you r dealing with a boy.. then you have your answer. But there are 2 types of men.. Men that need a woman to take care of him & Men who need a woman who wants to take care of him. Based on which type of guy youre dealing with will determine why which particular guy wont commit. The guy who needs a woman to take care of him is simply put. He needs a Wother(woman/mother). He’s fine with his partner controlling certain aspects of his life. He needs a woman to build him up. Not saying he’s not a good catch.. he’s just used to being taken care of. Hes the guy whos woman handles everything on the business side of the relationship. Now depending on what type of wman you are.. this guy works for you. He will go to work, bring you his money & take care of home. Honestly this guy isn’t that desirable... but he often is in relationships more than the other male type. Type 2... The guy who needs a woman who wants to take care of him. Like it or not ladies men are all babies. Were spoiled (kanye shrug). . We want a woman who nurtures us. But this male type doesn’t need you in the same facet. He wants t know that you are his partner & that your focus is aligned with his. He’s confident, secure in whom he is & knows what he wants. He’s the guy who will take charge in his strong areas & allow you to lead in your strong areas. He’s about the partnership. This male type is no nonsense & won’t commit to you if you aren’t secure in yourself. His male needs you to be his cheerleader, his groupie, his fan, his support system. Etc... He needs you for emotional support... Not to be his mother. This guy is normally the most desirable & because of that... he doesn’t settle quickly because he has to know his partner. Yes all men have issues like women do. You have to know what type of guy your dealing with, how you align with him a find out the disconnect. If you’re a passive woman dealing with a passive male... not gonna work... he needs you to take care of him & you want him to take charge... get my drift...

Lastly... The SITUATION... that means when you step back & look at it. Does the relationship make sense to BOTH parties? Ladies... just because you think it does. Doesn’t mean you’re on the same page. Ladies... if a man shows you who he is believe him... & leave him... But if you decide to stay, you accept that behavior. If your guy has some things but their workable... don’t jump ship so quickly. People always talk about communication, trust & all that... Those things have to be a given before you get this point. But if being with this person doesn’t make since, financially, socially, and emotionally& you’re just working to hard... then that’s not it... You work hard in relationships... not for them... If you can the around this person naturally... then its not gonna work long term. If you guys don’t build each other... then it’s not the move. At the end of the day... if you’re asking a man to commit to a headache. You’re headed for heartache.

In conclusion. Relationships are a business... It’s not about why he won’t commit... its more about why she won’t commit... look into you 1 st for answers. Don’t go to anyone who has less experience than you. You want a working relationship... surround yourself with working relationships. See how they operate. Asses your but don’t try to immolate. Find out if this is the guy for you... That’s important. Ladies... learn to lay your cards out. Let a guy know where you are... scare him as qucly as possible to find out how he will react. To see whether you have a Boy or a Man. After you’ve discovered that... Find out which type of Man he is. Lastly... don’t force anything... if he doesn’t want to be there... u can’t make him. & your just gonna be a miserable mess anyway... Be the strong woman that GOD created you to be & handle you. The reason you may not have found the one for you, is because you’re still building yourself to be the one for them.

Basic Bitches, Bad Bitches & Regular Women

There has been a social discrepancy amongst women... Especially our women.. So much so to where it has jaded the idea of how our women define themselves to us... And to themselves. I'm speaking in reference to Basic Bitches,Bad Bitches & Regular Women. I feel its valid to speak on this from a male vantage point.

So well start with THE BASIC BITCH. Also known as ratchets,dirty foots,skeezers etc.. Basic bitches have no care for their social position... Their primary problem is that they desire to be bad bitches or wurr previously a bad bitch. Basic bitches attempt to acquire bad bitch things on a scaled down level. Ita all abt the "look" for them. Basic bitches are not always bad looking... Males don't be fooled.... You can get caught up by a basic bitch in bad bitch clothing.. What separates a bad bitch from a basic bitch is quality. A basic bitch will screw a man knowing that he has no desire what so ever to be with her & be content with that. And based on the individuals social status she will go to great length's to do so. Basic bitches are basic because they apply their skills,talent & looks to mediocrity.. BASIC shit.

Next is the BAD BITCH.. The most controversial.. Women often associate themselves with bad bitches. This connotation is normally associated with the image that the media has portrayed to them. Bad bitches are a few...But not rare... Bad bitches are normally more than average in physical stature. They normally acquire the latest & stay up with whats goin on. The problem with bad bitch standard is its set by the WRONG media image for a woman. Bad bitches normally are all about social status.. They want to be around whats hot,who's hot & are against whats not. Bad bitches normally run in packs.. They are hunters. Bad bitches are normally very well known.. Just not normally for the right things. Because of their desire for the finer things in life but not the means to do so... They often engage in questionable acts in order to obtain these said "things". There is a silver lining to bad bitches.. A bad bitch CAN ALWAYS become a regular woman with a redirect of focus. That's what separates a bad bitch from being regular.. Her focus is on using what she has to get what she wants..She's willing to go the extra mile for a lifestyle.

Now... The regular woman... Everybody asks.. Who wants a regular woman? Well..Based on life.. Every man... Basic bitches are primarily single.. Bad bitches...Are either single & fuckin.. Or fuckin wit somebody who's fuckin everybody. Regular woman.. May have a friend...Maybe 2.. But there is a difference. Regular women use their tools,skills & resources for personal advancement rather than social status or acquiring things. Regular woman are the rarest because they are the most looked over. They are everywhere... They walk around in clubs,malls,the streets..Everywhere. They may have extraordinary careers but live there life in a normal facet. There focus isn't on acquiring the latest fashion even though they may be fashion forward. They idea of social status isn't what artist you are or team you play for.. Its their own forward progression in their career & life. They want to align themselves with someone who shares like ideas & goals. In a group of 5 women there will be 3 Basic Bitches,1 Bad Bitch & 1 Regular Woman. The basic bitches will be always aggressive..Because they basic... They ain't used to shit... The bad bitch will get selected becuz she is clearly head over heels more "revealing" than the regular woman. The regular woman would care less because she's really not that interested if it doesn't peek her interest. The regular woman prefers class over objectification. She may be just as big of a fan as a basic or bad bitch but wont put herself in a position to be labeled. A regular woman admires the aggression of a basic bitch & the adoration a bad bitch receives but respects her reserved position on things. A bad bitch looks at the regular woman & says "im way badder than her why i cant get no man", the basic bitch says "she aint all dat i could get her man if i wanted him".. All the while they admire the subtle reservation of the regular woman that makes her beautiful.

In conclusion. A regular woman is the true standard. The woman who works hard for things she desires.. She may be just as appealing physically as the bad bitch but refuses to objectify herself. Fhe media has hidden this woman from plain sight & has caused society to overlook her. So now our women add this..Cut that.. Sew in this & inject that to create this Bad Bitch who with all her accessories still has little value. A bad bitch is just a basic bitch in hiding... U can stand a group of women together & they can all be equally attractive..But what would separate them from a Bad Bitch, a Basic Bitch & Regular Woman... ATTITUDE...
